All right, kiddos. Here we go.
Been working a whole bunch, trying to act like I know how to deal with "real life," and poverty has forced me to get rid of my internet. Now I've gotta wait until I can afford to drive across town to my mom's house and use her computer to check my e-mail, bank account, and do all the other useful things one can do with the internet. *sigh* Life's tough for a wannabe small-time rockstar, eh?
Regardless, I'm here now to pass along a bit of news to all of you hard-core fans who keep coming back to read this crap. There may be a few of you left out there who recall a time when I had a "band." Remember the good old days of the Star$ Saturday night Freakshow? Well, those times are coming back around, but re-tooled and retro-fitted for the next generation . . . or something. What I'm trying to say is that I've been spending the past month or so working with an exceptional musician who has the strange desire to actually play music with me. And (this is the really cool part) in about a month or so we'll be out there playing music for all of you.
*I'll take this moment to sit back and relax as the multitudes applaud my triumphant return. Or insert some other megalomaniacal statement here.*
Meet Erich. Formerly the guitarist from local band Dirty Bird, he has (with a very sexy and masculine display of upper body strength) picked up the upright bass and has been reminding himself what a genius he is when it comes to stringed instruments. He's my platform, my rhythm, my low-end, and owner of my awe.
Because of schedule conflicts, we haven't been able to spend as much time together practicing as we'd like. But beginning very soon, we'll be hashing it all out and making beautiful sounds to share with anyone willing to listen. Of course, I'll be updating you all as soon as I get definitive dates for shows. Right now I'll say around late February. That sound all right to you? :)
Until then, take care. . . and stop picking at that!
