The following is an e-mail I received from my friend/webmaster/social conscience Chris. It's one of those things where he just got so upset that he could stay silent no longer. And you know what? I applaud him for it. He's said a lot of things that I totally agree with; that's why I'm posting his e-mail here for all of you Freakshow kiddies to take a gander at.
Maybe you'll agree with him. Maybe not. Maybe you'll read this and get totally excited and rush off and form sort of group or coalition that'll help save this sorry excuse for a country we live in, no matter which side of the fence you land on. But read the following, think about what's said, form an opinion, and talk to people about it.
Remember, kiddos: INFORMATION = POWER
I'll get off my high horse now and hand the reigns to Chris. Enjoy. ----Holly
You know, here in Texas, we can shoot people for trespassing in our homes. George W. Bush should know that very well.
Sounds to me like he doesn't seem to view other countries as being foreign land and feels entitlement.
McClellan is one of the many people in Washington who never ceases to amaze with dumb statements.
-- The White House condemned the "horriffic attacks" by people "trying to prevent democracy from moving forward," spokesman Scott McClellan said. --
People trying to prevent a foreign regime from trespassing on their land and enfocing their own ideals and beliefs?
Try wandering into a cave that a bear lives in.
Try scuba diving with sharks.
Jump into a cage with a tiger.
The animals themselves aren't evil. They are violence prone. They aren't evil. They instinctually protect what is theirs and do not appreciate interference.
As a US Citizen, I am under the jurisdiction of this nation. If I break the law, I have right to trial by jury, and will be dealt with based on the verdict.
In Iraq, the citizens are denied rights by not only their government, but by our government too.
So, here's a rather politically incorrect question:
Are the citizens of Iraq stupid? Uneducated? Barbarians? Violent? Against the Call of Christ? Predisposed to never reach Nirvana? Ungrateful for the provisions of Krishna?
Or worse! Are they enslaved by their government? Victims? Too stupid to realize that we're trying to help them?
Or do they just not want help?

We're all pretty confident that Bush could take the TAAS Test (Texas Assessment of Academic Skills) and would likely say "I took the TAAS Test... (pause) -- It was very tricky... but I passed, like many other students in the great state of Texas."
However, I'd like to invite Bush to take a class in...
Psychology? Anthropology? Bibilical History? World Religion? Zoology?
Perhaps we should redirect some of the money going into the 500,000 gallon oil reserve, the Halliburton sponsored war in Iraq, or the study of flatulence of cows in Montana for a few college classes for GW.
Who are these people in Iraq? What is their history? How long has this nation existed? What is this nation's relations with its neighbors (historically, not just since 1991)?
What God do they worship? What do they think of "our" God? How does "our" God get along with "their" God? ("In Iraq... I have learned that they have a God... much like our God... and they don't recognize Jesus." -- a possible quote somehow inserted during a political speech for GW?)
So where does Zoology fit in?
Just because we're both humans, doesn't mean that we can communicate with the people of Iraq on a common ground.
Try explaining to a lion that you aren't trying to mark your territory while wandering around his lair.
Try wandering into a cave to give first aid to a bear cub.

Use some common sense. Proceed slowly and build trust. It took Adolf Hitler a very short time to set his Machiavellian plan into motion. Had it taken longer, I think that a few people might have had some questions.
It's the same mentality in Washington right now. Laws have been overturned, and people have been sent in all different directions, confused, and rather angry. The war hasn't gone too well, but if you look at this from a strategic perspetive -- In 2 years, we've invaded Iraq, removed their leader (love him or hate him), setup US companies to mine crude oil overseas -- all while reinstating McCarthyism in the United States in the first step towards suppressing an opposition to our executive decisions.
--
Much like Hitler's conspiracy theories on the Jewish Race, the concept of the superman, and feeding gunpowder residue from the first World War -- here in the United States, we've created conspiracy theories linking Iraq to Al Quieda, promoted a false sense of democracy, and yeah, I can still smell residue from Operation Desert Storm.
So we are at war right now, right? Most American Citizens probably don't actively acknowledge this since, well - there's no front line, no concentration camps, and only one front ... right?
Um... no.
The United States has been holding Iraqi POWs for over a year under military law without providing ANY due process, trial, phone call home, or any intelligent reason other than the person being in Iraq. Re: US Japanese Camps / removal of rights / property / businesses / status during World War II. Someone please make a movie about this -- that's the only way the US really listens....
The front line is where our troops have been since the war started . . . Iraq. It's not about gaining land, it's about sending forensics out to Iraq to analyze what might have once been used to construct what may have potentially been some sort of explosive that might have been dangerous if it was used. While we do this, we'll go ahead and set up a government, limited by the rules that we establish for it and the involvement of US investments that are profiting off of reconstruction...
And about there being only one front... (laughing)... there's a front around every street corner. Unlike most conventional wars where there's a real threat and a real target, this is a war without any ground whatsoever other than an egomaniac's ridiculous claims. We have soldiers dying every day in Iraq who are stationed all over the place like a cluster bomb since there is absolutely no goal, target, purpose, plan, or focus of what we're doing there.
Yup. We're at war with Iraq. It's a culture war. We're wandering into the Lion's Den and drilling oil while claiming to be installing a democracy that I only wish we really had over here in the United States.
Pooh Bear got his head stuck in the honey tree ... because ... well, there was a lot of delicious honey in that tree. There were bees too by the way. And the only way to get in was through a very small hole.
Sometimes the honey is so declious that you overlook future considerations while staring at present danger without any recourse.

So what would I like to see happen? If we aren't leaving Iraq, I'd like to see G.W.B. admit to the nation that we are in a War that is in a country that didn't invite us that will hostily defend its culture. Because we used violence and destruction riding on billions of tax payer money, the Iraquis will fight back with what little they have and ... somehow, it doesn't seem so barbaric to me that they are blowing up cars with homemade explosives (or weapons bought on the black market).
Given the same resources that the United States has -- or let's say ... 5% of the resources we've had for this war, the terrorists (not Iraq) would have probably destroyed the capitol, New York City, and heck - why not destroy Massachutsetts for historical kicks.
If GWB is out of the big house come elections, then I would like to see our nation focus more on properly educating children about how to function in society, work towards nationally funded medical care, create new government jobs to focus on the character and culture of this country, and to rebuild relations with foreign nations.
So... where am I going?
Yay. 4 US Civilians died in Iraq. What the hell were they doing in the middle of a war zone? Oh, right. They were civillian contractors. My mistake.
If a janitor gets mauled by a bear at a zoo for cleaning the bear's den, I'm sure the bear will get shot by zoo security and if it could be tried in court, it would be found guilty of murder.
Bears will be bears.
